What an exceptional article and summary of not only the courageous efforts by the Iranian people to throw off their chains of oppression, but of the utter silence of the West and how they have flipped the ideals of right and wrong on their moral back side.

Thank you Nadav: Your post is an appropriate capper to what has been a very long night's vigil. We are grateful for the clarity you provide! Gratefully, Gary

Thanks Gary. Lets hope we see change, and quickly.

Nadav: I have good and bad news--first the bad news: I just looked out my window toward the East (Jerusalem) and I DID NOT see Moshiach, unfortunately. The good news, even Al-Jazeera and the BBC are covering the story on the streets of Iran. Because The Almighty is not on the writing staff at Al-Jazeera or BBC (one and the same actually), this is a "minor" miracle even though the Iranian story is buried a bit. May the Schwartz be with the people heroically remaining in the streets of Iranian cities. Gary

Nadav, I agree with everything you say about the hypocrisy in the West and its moral bankruptcy. However, I am very uncomfortable, as an Israeli, when attention is drawn to the dual standard. In Israel we ask of citizens (well, at least those who actually believe in the state) much more than the typical state in military service, financial support, and other areas of daily life. We, as a people, have come together and willingly made those sacrifices knowing that the cause we sacrificed for was generally just and held the moral high ground. Our ethical standards were understood, whether explicitly or not, not to be in comparison to others, but meant to meet our own standards. We may have been imperfect in their fulfillment, but our moral aspirations gave us a collective north star to guide us. The current government in Israel has decimated those ethical underpinnings which is contributing to the fraying of the previously cohesive Israeli social fabric which was so central to Israel's ability to survive, and thrive. It is precisely the moral relativism you imply in your piece that provides the rationalization for the likes of Netanyahu and his government to run roughshod over what made Israel the exceptional state that it was. We can do better. Adam Hurwich/New York

By now It should be obvious who supports good over evil. Unfortunately, repeating a big lie over and over to lazy minds glued to screens, and by sold out universities, media and politicians, make it especially difficult for the truth to penetrate. Also, the amazing lack of any PR strategy, or an organized communication effort by the Israeli government is frankly shocking! We continue to sit on our hands wondering why world opinion fails to recognize the difference between its head and its ass!

The first actions taken by the mayor of New York to erase the world recognized definition of antisemitism, and striking an order that prohibits demonstrations in front of religious institutions, should also be another wake-up call. The "We support Hamas" demonstrations in Kew Gardens, Queens NY, in a mostly Jewish residential community is shocking, and unrecognizable to me who grew up in NY! Turning our heads, and denial of what is happening never ends well. Individual efforts like answering tweets, correcting lies are all good and appreciated, but with billions of Jew haters flooding all facets of media render those efforts to just a whisper. It is obvious that we need more than the efforts of individuals.

Jewish history shows that Hashem works through bold leadership and concerted efforts of the Jewish people as collective. The Jewish State should not and can not be absent in the fight for truth over lies, and good over evil, if it wants to be successful in its mission to protect itself and worldwide Jewery!
